What is the goal of Internet Missions Research?

The goal of Internet Missions Research is to help further the cause of Christian missions by providing a custom web research service.

How does it work?

The site works like a search engine, except that the request is sent to a person who then looks up material on the internet to fulfill that request.

Why are the number of requests limited?

Unlike a regular search engine, which is computer driven, searches are conducted by a person.  The trade off is that fewer searches can be done, but it is hoped that those which are done will provide a greater benefit to the one requesting it.

How is it funded?

At this time, Internet Missions Research is run on a volunteer basis, so searching is provided free of charge.  Limited donations are welcome to help fund operating costs.

Do you provide links to materials that anyone can look at?

No.  All links are provided to the person submitting the request.  While a confidential record is kept of searches performed, this is used only if someone requests previously requested items.  The idea is to shield people from piles of information and provide only that which is related to their request.  As the field of missions changes over time, it is probably better to do a fresh search than to rely on older compiled material, which may contain outdated links.  A way to do this is to use a custom search engine which searches multiple selected sites simultaneously.  One set up for missions is here.

What kind of requests can be submitted?

Any request related to christian missions which will help further it in some way can be submitted.

If, after having a look at this site, you feel that you would like in some way, then please use the contact page to send a message to the author of this site.

I also help others find missions related resources on the internet and would like to discuss my work.  Is there a place where I can do this?

Yes, there is a forum specifically for those helping others find missions resources on the internet.  You can find it here.
